Learn about Hawaii in ways you have never experienced before! Ahupua'a is a traditional method for dividing the island. Each of these divisions were made so people living there had access to all the resources the island has to offer. From fishing and farming to water and trees, only certain regions of the island hold these precious resources. Explore a different region of the island every day! Monday through Friday explore from the tops of the mountains, down through the forests, explore the farmlands, and learn about the ocean and water around the island. Saturday and Sunday take special field trips to explore more about the Hawaiian way of life.
Sky Mountain Day
Study the sky as we explore the Lanikai pillbox, make kites, learn at the bishop museum, and gaze at the stars in the planetarium.
The forest is alive and we get to learn all about it hiking to Mania Falls. Capture the woods as we photograph the journey together.
Begin the day working in the Loi fields of the University of Hawaii, visit Kapolei and play traditional Hawaiian games and pound your own Poi!
Learn about life on the farm! Learn about the animals, how they grow crops, and decide what to grow. It's a hands on experience all day!
Explore Coconut Island where we will visit the touch pool and the hammerhead nursery. Finish the day by learning about and making your own poke bowl!
